Gany was nice enough to hand me the keys to the car once explaining the situation (the basics anyway) when I met him down at the office. Told me he was fine with taking the bus, just to remember to plug in Lenore to charge her when I returned home. I didn’t realize up to that point that the car was an electric one as I’d never seen Gany unplug anything. Still I thought it a great thing all the same. There were definitely no arguments on my part as I thanked him kindly for the gesture, told him that next time would be different, that I would help out more. He didn’t even ask me where I’d been which led me to think he probably thought I was already helping. Made me wish I actually had.
On a side note, I also took time to mention to him of how the sky had unexpectedly opened, with gray clouds abating to a crystal clear blue sea. The Frenchman told me that it was a common saying around these parts that “if you didn’t like the weather then just wait a moment’s moment for change”. To which I then responded, “In the minutes turned to hours, clocked through the days drug on for weeks at a time—if that’s what you mean then yes, I totally agree. So forgive me if I don’t hold my breath waiting on the miracle.”
He just laughed saying, “You will see.”
Still as we did part ways and I left that building behind me in pursuit of an interpretation, giving witness to the flood reign of darkness diluting in the distance to a new rise of sun shining down through spotless array as that which I stepped into, I must say it was nothing less of a marvel to behold the scene.
I did not see Summer again for the remainder of my time there, however quick to exit I was through that glass house, down the secret staircase and on to filter through the levels to make it to the final gated departure. Nor did I see Nashira, though I thought she probably had not left the hidden sanctuary before me. Odd, I thought, that I had never thought to ask her more about its origins, should she even know. But considering our conversation it was understandable. Not like she probably knew much of anything about it anyway.
Getting back inside Lenore and using the GPS just as Gany had shown me, I entered the specific coordinates that Regina had given as to the location of her home. Wasn’t easy as the screen decided to glitch on me more than a few times, making things difficult as on each attempt I would either lose the information by an erase, or be altered off course completely by an altogether change to the every letter addressed in the code I had just gone through the trouble of entering. Nevertheless, I endured. In the end it did take, only after seemingly exhausting all
